Kona Update (4/8)––New Features for a Remote World

We've added three big features to the Kona Slackbot: App Home, Cultural Insights, and a Google Calendar Integration.

We've added three big features to the Kona Slackbot: App Home, Cultural Insights, and a Google Calendar Integration.

🏡 App Home is the new center for coworker insights. Located right in the Kona app, App Home enables teams to view insights organized by category and easily reference teammate profiles. Kona's Calendar feature and slash-commands also include a "View Full Profile" button to enable in-depth reasoning behind insights.

We built 🌍 Cultural Insights with globally-distributed and diverse remote teams in mind. Many of the remote managers we interviewed mentioned the challenges of bridging cultural differences. To solve this, we added region-specific insights to Kona's database. Coworkers can add their culture to their Kona profile and learn about coworkers' cultural etiquette and communication styles.

📅 Calendar is our new Google Calendar integration for meetings and one-on-ones. Remote managers are all-too-often swamped with meetings. To help managers context-switch and cater to their teammate's needs, Kona shares insights 15-minutes before meetings. Learn about each participants' communication preferences, time zones, and more to make the most of your video call.

🖐️ User Tags are our small but powerful fix for getting insights faster. Our pilot customers mentioned slash commands were often easy to forget and outside of their daily workflow. We listened and made it so Kona prompts users when they've tagged someone in a message. User Tags is one of the many ways we'll be incorporating insights into everyday Slack conversations.
